We are pleased to announce that we will be exhibiting at Feed Formulation Latin America 2025, taking place from 16 to 18 September in São Paulo, Brazil.

You can find us at stand 2130-F within the Dutch Animal Nutrition Pavilion. Our colleagues Jacques Sips and Erik Roberts will be there to welcome you and discuss how we can support your operations and growth with our feed formulation solutions.

Erik brings a wealth of experience in young animal nutrition, having worked with well-known companies such as Nutrifeed, Meneba (Limagrain), DSM, and Phileo LeSaffre. His strong background enables him to support our products not only commercially, but also from a technical perspective.

Omega-3 in early-life nutrition - an investment in lifetime performance

Recent research published by WATT Global Media highlights the positive effects of omega-3 fatty acids in broiler nutrition – including improved feed conversion ratio (FCR).

These insights align closely with our approach to young animal nutrition. FMR Omega 3 from Joosten is a functional feed ingredient rich in omega-3 fatty acids from fish (EPA and DHA). There are three main types of omega-3 fatty acids: EPA (C20:5) and DHA (C22:6) found in fish and algae, while ALA (C18:3) is primarily found in plant-based fat sources

While ALA acts as a precursor, EPA and DHA are directly active and especially valuable for enhancing the animal’s anti-inflammatory capacity. Research and field experience show that omega-3-rich diets (especially EPA and DHA):

► Support gut health and early gut development
► Improve nutrient utilization
► Boost growth performance in young animals

Strong gut development early in life supports long-term performance in pigs and poultry.

Business Development Spain and Latin America
 
We’re pleased to officially introduce Erika Berkvens Perales, who is active in Business Development for the Spanish market at Joosten – young animal nutrition.
 
As a native Spanish speaker, Erika brings a natural understanding of the language, culture and mindset of our Spanish-speaking clients. Her ability to connect on a personal and professional level helps strengthen our relationships in both Spain and Latin America.
Some of our clients already know Erika from online meetings, where she takes on the role of interpreter for Spanish-speaking countries.
Beyond business development, Erika also contributes to our marketing and social media, ensuring our message resonates across languages and cultures. 
Her insight into local ways of thinking adds real value to the conversations we have, and the partnerships we build.

Francy Meulen
Quality Assurance Manager

Francy Meulen joined our team as Quality Assurance Manager.
 
She is responsible for the inspection of raw materials and final products in our lab, ensuring that every product meets Joosten’s high quality standards. Francy is also actively involved in conducting and analyzing research from our application farm and turning those results into practical value for our clients.
Additionally, Francy supports our operations team to help ensure business continuity and flexibility. Her all-round contribution strengthens our promise of consistent quality and reliable service.

Los ensayos con animales son una forma útil de probar los productos, pero también se pueden utilizar cuestionarios para recopilar información relevante con el fin de mejorar un producto. Por ello, Joosten envió recientemente, junto con su distribuidor, un formulario a los usuarios de FMR Ω3 en Perú. Esto contribuyó a una mejor comprensión de la aplicación, la posible necesidad de ajustes y un mayor conocimiento de los beneficios de FMR Ω3 en las dietas avícolas.

Joosten – young animal nutrition is continuously testing their products and looking for opportunities to improve their products, in terms of quality as well as applicability. Animal trials are a useful way to test products, but also questionnaires may be used to collect relevant information in order to improve a product. Joosten therefore recently sent out - together with their distributor - a questionnaire to users of FMR Ω3 in Peru. This contributed to a better understanding of the application, the possible need for adjustments and an increased awareness of the advantages of FMR Ω3 in poultry diets.
